Being that this is the first official review from PhillyScene you know we had to do it big. Cavanaughs on a saturday night lived up to the hype and then some. There is no way any single guy or girl could have been disappointed with the turn out of the 20 something singles crowd that packed every square inch of the river deck. Even with 6 bars you were constantly elbowing in to shout your drink order over the mix of 80's, 90's and hiphop pumpin heavy from the sound system.
From the deck you get a great view of the lit Ben Franklin Bridge, and on a clear night you can see the tops of the skyscrapers in Center City. But if you find yourself looking at these things it probably means your girlfriend or boyfriend is with you, or else you would be focused on the beautiful people in the diverse crowd that's constantly pushing past you and around you for their share of the dance floor.
Ryan Cromcamo (The GM) & his security kept good crowd control and steady flow through the walk areas which sometimes can get congested with a bunch of girls from a bachelorette party or people waiting to use the bathrooms by the 50's. With such a packed place and alcohol flowing you would think that there would have been at least a couple problems, but to the staff's credit I only saw one fight and it was broken up by security pretty quickly.
I would defiantly recommend going to Cavanaugh's River Deck if you know it's going to be a nice night out, and your probably looking to spend between 30-45 dollars for cover and drinks. One last word of advice, don't wear white shoes!
